Andrew C. Smith is a licensed architect with over 30 years experience in the design, management, production, and construction of a wide range of regional and national architectural projects.
His experience includes the design and master planning of projects ranging from 10,000 SF to over 1,000,000 SF and encompasses commercial, institutional, and government sector projects and including speculative, corporate, and build-to-suit office buildings, hospitality facilities, building renovation, multi-family residential, educational and laboratory facilities.
Mr. Smith is known and respected for his management ability on large-scale, fast-track, complex building projects. He is highly skilled in every facet of the development process – from initial planning and zoning aspects through construction and project delivery. He has a proven track record in successfully representing his client’s needs and interests in dealings with zoning bodies, building code officials, neighborhood groups, elected officials, financing and marketing organizations, the end-users and their operations personnel.
The depth of this experience, along with his exceptional portfolio of work, brings a critical integration of experience and knowledge and across all the aspects of design and construction to his client’s projects.
Prestigious Fortune 100 projects recently completed by Andy include: Oracle East Coast Headquarters; KPMG Peat Marwick Headquarter, Sallie Mae Headquarters, Booz Allen Hamilton Headquarters, along with a number of public projects with specialized requirements including the National Reconnaissance Organization (NRO), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Peace Corps Headquarters.
Projects recently completed for institutional clients include the University of Virginia Foundation and the George Mason University Foundation. As a firm Principal, Andy is responsible for project management and quality control, as well as the overall management of the office.
